£10.00

This is a download of a one-off pre-recorded video workshop suitable for the parents of schooled or home educated children of KS1 or KS2 age who have found it hard to learn times table facts and, therefore, follow-on topics such as division and fractions.

The lesson is led by Judy Brice, a very experienced Teacher and Online Tutor who specialises in teaching fun and engaging online lessons in a visual and practical way. The workshop was originally run on Zoom. A second downward-facing camera was used so that you can see exactly what Judy is doing with her Cuisenaire Rods. As well as the 2nd camera, a virtual whiteboard called BitPaper was used. You can see virtual manipulatives on the whiteboard.

You will also receive a pdf of the presentation and a booklet explaining some activities to help your child.

Description

This is a download of a one-off pre-recorded video workshop, suitable for the parents of schooled or home educated children of KS1 or KS2 age who have found it hard to learn times table facts and, therefore, follow-on topics such as division and fractions.

This 1-hour hands-on workshop is for parents or new Tutors who wish to attend for CPD reasons.

The lesson is led by Judy Brice, a very experienced Teacher and Online Tutor who specialises in teaching fun and engaging online lessons in a visual and practical way. She specialises in teaching children who are Neurodiverse and still benefit from being taught in a much more practical way at an older age.

The workshop was originally run on Zoom. A second downward-facing camera was used so that you can see exactly what Judy is doing with her Cuisenaire Rods. If you already have a set of these versatile little rods, you will be able to do the same activity as Judy with your own rods.

As well as the 2nd camera, a virtual whiteboard called BitPaper was used. You can see virtual manipulatives on the whiteboard.

Counters are also be used, so if you have either double-sided counters or any small objects like beans or dried beans, please have these ready to use.

You will also receive a pdf of the presentation and a bonus eBook, usual price of £2, explaining some activities to help your child.

If your child is of KS3 age and has experienced real difficulties, this session may still be suitable. If you think this might be the case, please contact Judy direct at info@jmbeducationalservices.co.uk for further guidance and confirmation of your child’s suitability.

If your KS1 or KS2 age child attends a school rather than being home educated and you are prepared to sit and work with them using the techniques shown in the workshop, then this is also for you!

However, if you would prefer to attend the workshop live on Zoom, please look on our Eventbrite page https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/judy-brice-jmb-educational-services-ltd-33328581321 These events happen weekly on rotation. Choose this option if you would like to be part of a workshop where you can ask questions and join in. The exact content changes depending on the participants and their needs.
